Chris's Running Challenge

496km in January 2026 - As Treatment Gets Harder, So Does the Run

The Metaphor: Just as Lucy's cancer treatment becomes progressively more challenging with each passing day, Chris will run an increasing distance each day of January. Starting with 1km on the 1st and building to 31km on the 31st - mirroring the mounting difficulty Lucy faces in her fight.

The Challenge

Chris, Lucy's husband, is taking on an extraordinary challenge throughout January 2026. Each day, the distance increases - just as Lucy's treatment becomes progressively harder.

Increasing Distance Challenge

1km on Jan 1st, 2km on Jan 2nd... up to 31km on Jan 31st

Total Target: 496km (308 miles)

The final day alone will be a full 31km run

Fundraising Goal: £25,000

Every kilometer counts toward vital research

Why I'm Running

"When Lucy was diagnosed with breast cancer during her pregnancy, our world changed forever. Watching her face increasingly difficult treatment has been heartbreaking, but her courage inspires me every single day."

"I wanted to do something that truly reflected what Lucy is going through. Just as her treatment gets progressively harder with each passing day, I'll run further each day of January. Starting with a simple 1km and building to a grueling 31km on the final day - it's my way of standing beside her in this fight."

"This challenge isn't just about the physical miles. It's about raising awareness that breast cancer can happen during pregnancy, and it's about funding research so that other families don't have to face the same limited treatment options we've encountered."

"Every donation, share, and word of encouragement means the world to us. Together, we can make a real difference for mothers and babies facing this devastating diagnosis."

- Chris
