The Challenge
Chris, Lucy's husband, is taking on an extraordinary challenge throughout January 2026. Each day, the distance increases - just as Lucy's treatment becomes progressively harder.
1km on Jan 1st, 2km on Jan 2nd... up to 31km on Jan 31st
The final day alone will be a full 31km run
Every kilometer counts toward vital research
Challenge Progress
Why I'm Running
"When Lucy was diagnosed with breast cancer during her pregnancy, our world changed forever. Watching her face increasingly difficult treatment has been heartbreaking, but her courage inspires me every single day."
"I wanted to do something that truly reflected what Lucy is going through. Just as her treatment gets progressively harder with each passing day, I'll run further each day of January. Starting with a simple 1km and building to a grueling 31km on the final day - it's my way of standing beside her in this fight."
"This challenge isn't just about the physical miles. It's about raising awareness that breast cancer can happen during pregnancy, and it's about funding research so that other families don't have to face the same limited treatment options we've encountered."
"Every donation, share, and word of encouragement means the world to us. Together, we can make a real difference for mothers and babies facing this devastating diagnosis."

Training Journey
Preparing for the Challenge
Training is well underway to prepare for this monumental challenge. The biggest concern is the final week - running 25km, 26km, 27km, 28km, 29km, 30km, and 31km on consecutive days requires serious endurance and mental strength. Building up gradually while staying injury-free is the key focus.
Updates will be posted throughout January
Training Focus Areas
- •Building endurance for back-to-back long distance runs in the final week
- •Injury prevention through proper stretching, recovery, and nutrition
- •Mental preparation for pushing through when it gets really tough
